Eloise Kretschmer has been involved in music since the age of 5. She played the cello before moving on to the double bass. At sixteen she was awarded a double scholarship for cello and double bass at Douglas Academy School of Music. In 2015 Eloise began her studies at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland with Nikita Naumov as her tutor. She is currently doing her masters at the Kunst Universität Graz in classical double bass with a focus on early music.

Eloise has performed with multiple orchestras, leading to performances at the Berliner Philharmonie, Buckingham palace, the Albert Hall (the Proms), Glasgow City halls and St David's hall.

Eloise started to compose in 2021, which lead to her being featured in Cryptic Scotlands - Sonic Bites with filmmaker Sean Lionadh. 

 

With the support of The Royal Philharmonic Society Enterprise Fund she was able to develop her 2 albums and work on solo performances with a loop pedal at Kelburn Garden Party (Scotland), Summerhall (Edinburgh), Volksbühne am Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz (Berlin), Kwia (Berlin), Glad Cafe (Glasgow), Hug and Pint (Glasgow), Loophole (Berlin), BLOC+ (Glasgow).

Eloise composed original music for the short film 'Too Rough'. In 2022 this film went on to win 28 awards, including BAFTA and BIFTA. Later working on other short films such as 'Rest Assured'.

She has also been involved in theatre development and composition/performances. These productions include 'Wendy' and 'Love the Sinner' by Imogen Stirling at Tron Theatre, 'Listen to the Amazon' by Valeria Levi at Roxy and Tramway.

During her journey of exploring sound she has done multiple collaborations with DJ collectives - PHLOX and BVSN.

 

She is currently based in Austria.
